Degree Programs
KAY JAY COLLEGE OF PHARMACY & TECHNOLOGY offers comprehensive degree programs in Elementary Teacher Training (ETT) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), designed to shape dedicated and skilled teaching professionals. These programs are structured to provide a strong academic foundation along with hands-on training, enabling students to excel in both primary and secondary education sectors.
D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) / ETT (Elementary Teacher Training)
D.El.Ed/ETT is a 2-year diploma course that trains students to become proficient enough to be able to undertake classroom teaching in an elementary school. ETT eligibility is that students who have completed their 10+2 can apply for this course.
This 4-semester program teaches fundamental principles and theories of education, information management, and other disciplinary courses to the students. This training program also involves teaching students to develop lesson plans, curate and evaluate classroom tests, give out instructions, and practically teach a classroom full of children 4-12 years of age. The candidates after completing their training of elementary teachers can have successful careers in teaching. They can get hired as primary school teachers, language experts/editors, research associates, librarians, and also as part-time teachers.
Course Duration (D.El.Ed / ETT)
The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), formerly known as ETT, is a two-year full-time course designed to train future teachers for the primary level. The program is divided into two academic years, covering both theoretical knowledge and practical training, including school internships.
D.EL.ED/ETT Entrance Exam
This examination is conducted by Education and State Boards once a year which determines the eligibility of a candidate pursuing this diploma course. If an applicant has passed the examination, he/she can further seek admission to the course.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
B.Ed or Bachelor of Education is a 2-year professional degree course that prepares graduates to become qualified teachers at the secondary and senior secondary school level. The course equips students with modern teaching methods, subject-specific knowledge, and practical classroom skills. Candidates who have completed their graduation (Bachelor’s degree in any stream) with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply.
This 4-semester program covers essential areas such as pedagogy of specific subjects, child development, inclusive education, educational psychology, and classroom management. The curriculum also includes lesson planning, evaluation techniques, internship programs, and teaching practice in real school environments.
After completing the B.Ed course, candidates can pursue a career in both government and private schools as trained graduate teachers (TGTs) or PGT teachers depending on their qualifications. B.Ed graduates are also eligible to appear in CTET, PSTET, and other state-level teaching eligibility tests, making it a gateway to a successful teaching career.
Course Duration (B.Ed)
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a 2-year full-time professional course divided into 4 semesters. It includes both theoretical studies and practical teaching experience through internships in schools. The course is designed as per NCTE guidelines.
